  • Dr. Heekin is an in-network provider with several insurance plans including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, and Multiplan/PHCS. Please continue to check in as more plans are being added regularly. If you have insurance for which Dr. Heekin is not in network and would like to use out-of-network benefits, you can be provided with a “superbill” (i.e. receipt) which you may submit to your health insurance company for reimbursement.

  • Yes. Self-pay rates are $400 for a 50-minute initial consultation, and $250 for 30-minute follow-up visits. Please see the Schedule an Appointment link at the top of the page for further details.

  • No. Dr. Heekin’s practice is limited to adult clients ages 18 and up.

  • Initial consultations last approximately 50 minutes. Follow-up visits are shorter and focused on checking in on treatment response and the status of any new or existing symptoms.

  • Dr. Heekin’s practice is focused on psychiatric medication management (psychopharmacology), so he does not do in-depth counseling or psychotherapy. Of course at every visit we will check in and see how you have been doing, but this does not take the form of multiple 1-hour sessions that many people associate with psychotherapy. For many clients therapy is an important part of the treatment, and for those who may benefit from it Dr. Heekin can help provide referrals to providers in your area.

  • Even if you have never done telehealth/telemedicine before, it is really quite simple! All you need is a device such as a smartphone, computer, or tablet that has a camera and can connect to the internet. Appointments will take place on a secure videoconferencing platform, but you do not need to download anything. You will get access to the secure patient portal where you can schedule appointments, send messages, and make payments. Click on the Schedule an Appointment link at the top of the page and you will be walked step-by-step through this easy and convenient process.

To obtain testing for ADHD, you will need to work with a psychologist who is trained to administer these specialized tests. You may find a qualified neuropsychologist in your area by searching online for “neuropsychologist” or “neuropsychological evaluation near me.”
